Guide
Fill in eBay item specifics correctly.
Item specifics help eBay categorize listings and show them to relevant buyers. They're also among the most common causes of unnecessary upload errors.
The most important fields
- Brand: Manufacturer name, or unbranded if no brand exists.
- Model: Exact model designation from the product or nameplate.
- EAN / GTIN: Product identifier, if available and required for the category.
- MPN: Manufacturer part number — don't confuse with EAN or brand.
- Condition: Matches the visible item and eBay category.
Photos as a data source
Photograph packaging, labels, and nameplates legibly. For electronics, images of ports, model numbers, and accessories help. For media, region, edition, and rating matter.
Insero analyzes product photos and suggests matching item specifics. Before publishing you can check and correct every field.
Review before upload
If a detail isn't clearly identifiable, it shouldn't be guessed. An empty or consciously marked not-applicable value is better than a wrong product identifier.
